Julia is 17 months old

Julia turned 17 months on the 4th.

In her 16th month (November), Julia learned 42 new words: Amen, apple, bear, bed, bird, boo (for peek-a-boo), book, box, Brooke, bug, Buzz, cheese (like "say cheese" for the camera phone), cold, come, Donald, grass, hey, hot (for the fire in the fireplace), it's okay (her favorite phrase), kiss, Kyle, lemon, lion, me (for her reflection in a Christmas tree bulb), Mickey, milk, mole (for a mole on mommy's neck), nigh-night (for good-night), nose, ouch, pen, please, shhhh, sheep, shoes, sock, teeth, thank you, three, two, whoa, yeah (yay)

This month she learned words that began with the letter "l," "p," and "t." Letter sounds she hasn't really figured out yet are those that begin with: f, q, v x, z. Sometimes we are not sure what Julia is saying. For instance, "ah-suh-gah-go!" What does that mean? We believe it might mean "where did the (something) go?"

It is so fun watching her grow and learn so quickly. So far in December, she has added a few words, including: candy, mmmmm (when she sees candy), and back (when she pets Roxy's back and says 'nice back').

As of December 8th, Julia's height is 31 3/4 inches, so she has grown 3/4 of an inch in about 5 weeks time. She is almost tall enough to go on Autopia (the cars) at Disneyland. She was 21 pounds even, (I weighed her after dinner 3 times in a row to get an accurate weight), so she lost at least a few ounces from the month prior. It must be due to her running around, spinning, basically just more physical activity. New foods that she likes include eggs and yogurt.
